i was told my zac had cataracts about 3 years ago, he is 12 and can still see nearly as well as the others, it doesnt seem to bother him that much and is just as happy as he was before. my dads wire haired fox terrier is nearly completely blind and it doesnt bother him at all and hes 15 years old. so if you dont go with the surgury dont worry they will be fine and still greet you with a waggy tail
