I tried something that has worked for mine, you might want to try it. When he would bite, I would yelp like they do when they get hurt. Then, I would firmly tell him "no", but I didn't yell. Just be firm. I put him down and turned my back on him and ignored him for 30 seconds. Then, I picked him back up and handed him a chew toy. Just keep doing this and increase the time you ignore them. I had to do it three times and then Jake understood. He hasn't been biting me anymore, and I've noticed sometimes he starts to, but he thinks about it first. Always hand them a toy that they are allowed to chew on so that they get the message. Most times, they don't like to be ignored and the "yelp" sound really gets their attention! |
