Yorkies that start out with thin coats are usually the ones that end up with the standard silky Yorkie coat. Ones with the really thick coats usually end up with cottony coats. When I first got Titan, at 6 mo, his hair was bad. He had some longer hairs, but most were shorter hairs. I trimmed the longer ones off. Now he just turned a year old and his coat is pretty nice. Very silky and finally getting longer. I've been told that you want your Yorkie hair to feel similar to people hair. Here is a pic of titan now.
