I found the same thing on my puppies back. A lump about the size of the pad of a thumb, not tender, but moveable with the skin. I was worried but my friend told me that her dog had a bunch of them and that their vet said it was fat deposits from fatty food, but not of any danger. I'm still going to ask the vet the next time I go though.
