Warm, humid, wet weather...that's when they get really bad here. Last fall I had to go out before Kacee and pluck them out before she could find them. It was a constant battle and still she found one I didn't find. It was hidden in a clump of decorative grass. I almost had a heart attack when I saw her carrying it around. I got her to drop it - she didn't eat any of it. I washed her mouth out even. I was almost worn out cutting those things out of her fenced area last fall, though. This year, I haven't seen any. We're having a drought!
