We are buying an new color of Yorky developed in Germany over the last 16 years, called; Biewer Yorkies. It is a recessive gene for a peibold color. The pics I've seen are very pretty. There aren't any breeders of this type on the West Coast that I have found, so this breeder is in Arkansas. One or the other of us talks to her every day and email. Her name is Gail Pruitt and her kennel is called, "Pruittyorkies". She has a deposit and my friend is going to fly out and pick up the dogs when they come from Germany. I will tell her to go to Gail's house and not just meet her somewhere. At least if we get scammed, it won't be for the whole amount. We are talking 2 pairs, 2males and 2 females $15,000.!!!! Pray for us..........Thanks.
Hi,

I am also planning on breeding Biewers. I have done extensive research and talked to several breeders in Germany who are also members of the club in Germany that recognizes them. Some of the information I have is different than what you have about Biewers. Did you get the info from the person you are buying them from in the US?

This is my PERSONAL OPINION ONLY..BUT!...Breeders in the US are not educated enough on the breed to be selling them for breeding to other breeders yet! ESPECIALLY for that kind of money. Vist my website and go to the Biewer Gals page, there is the standard of the Biewer (which is considered another breed in Germany). The History and Standard were provided to me by a reputable breeder in Germany. I passed it on to the clubs and other breeders in Germany to make sure it's accurate and it is!!! Please follow the standard as close as you can when selecting
for breeding. I want to help this breed become recognized in the states and to do so we must adhere to the stardard started in Germany and not modify it.
A very dear friend of mine who is a show breeder once told me when selecting a Yorkie for breeding/show follow the 3 fault rule. what that means is if you see more than 3 faults more than likely there are more than 3 so it would be wise to pass on something like that. With Biewers we need to be super picky, the breed is still very knew. Faults that I would stay away from are those that are marked in correctly. When you read the standard it calls for them to be marked a specific way. So if you are offered on that is all white with little color on the face, I would stay clear of that. That is not within the standard...i hope this all makes sense. If we adhere to the standard we can't go wrong..if we don't then we can end up with 'Tri-color' Yorkies that are not AKC registered. Not that there is anything wrong with Tris...but they don't have to be marked a specific way...think about Bernese Mountain Dogs..they have 3 colors right?? Well each one is marked the exact same way...that's what they Biewer is from Germany. I know of many breeders in the US that have Biewers that are mainly white and barely any color at all..not think along those lines with the Bernese MOuntain Dog..how odd would that be to see one that is all white on the body and a little color on the head...

I forgot to warn you ahead of time I am PASSIONATE about Biewers and I hope I didn't offend anyone out there. Believe me I love all creatures great and small but we do have to becareful when selecting for breeding!!

Feel free to PM me with any questions. I'm still learning too, but I'll try to help.

Hugs,
Irene
