Make sure you provide lots of chew toys. I was having a problem with Jake wanting to chew on my hands and fingers, and he was biting pretty hard sometimes, so I tried something that I read in a book and it worked.

When he would start biting, I would yelp the same way a dog does when they get hurt, and I would tell him firmly, without yelling, "no". Then, I would put him down and turn my back on him and ignore him for about 30 seconds. After that, I would pick him up and hand him a chew toy at the same time. He would start chewing on it, and I'd give him lots of praise. I had to do this three times, and then he got it. I would increase the time that I ignored him each time. It worked great!
