But how are yorkies and silkies THAT different from each other? They look almost exactly alike, enough so that it's almost impossible to tell the difference between one and a larger yorkie. And all terriers have that wonderful terrier personality that we all love. Even silkies, though, are only supposed to be 8-10 lbs.

I, too, am not "having a go" at those with larger yorkies. I think larger yorkies are ADORABLE, and my Kiki is still growing and may end up being a teapot herself. But I just don't think they should deliberately bred for. There are too many adorable larger yorkies sitting in shelters just waiting to be loved, because they weren't what their owners wanted or expected when they bought a "yorkie".
