 probably in heat
that is kind of young for her to go into to heat- but all dogs are different! most likely she is in heat. the spotting will last for a little while then when she stops bleeding, that is when you need to keep an eye on her if she has access to other male dogs, because that is the time that she will be most "attractive" to them. i cannot ever remember my girls acting depressed during a heat cycle, but hey- they're all different! if the spotting becomes a problem check out the doggy diapers. My dogs spot, but luckily I have tile floors and I can just wipe it up, careful w/ furniture though if she jumps on couches and chairs.
