Topher has an Outward Hound carseat that he just loves. It took him a bit to get used to it, but he won't ride anywhere else now. I think it's because he feels safe in it.
He used to ride in a hard sided carrier which was attached to the seat with the seatbelt, but I was always afraid that he'd get hurt being tossed around in there if there were an accident.
The Outward Hound was very inexpensive.
