Originally Posted by Suzy I just got an email from her. She claims the puppy is 6 months old now and is "1.8 pounds" and "exactly a pound and a half". I think she needs a math lesson, along with spellcheck software on her computer. She also told me the supposed results of the vet check, which are also contradictory: The vet found evidence that a hernia had been removed before this lady got the puppy, but she claims that the puppy cannot be "spade" (as she calls it!) or on worming medicine until she weighs two pounds, because she can't handle the anesthesia being so small-but she obviously already had surgery to remove the hernia-odd no? Also, she mentioned that the vet wanted to check the pup's "liver shunt" but she declined because she said the pup had no symptoms..Liver shunt? As far as I know, healthy puppies do not have liver shunts.
Also, the puppy must have worms if they're wanting to give worming medication, but isn't this typically safe for puppies of this age? She also keeps dodging my question about the puppy's teeth-and if she's lost any yet, or if she needs to have her baby teeth removed. The only "health guarantee" she'll give is for 72 hours after the puppy is received. Then she goes on to explain if I "dropped her or if she jumped out of your hands" they would not guarantee it. Makes me think she's been dropped or done some jumping in the past! Why would someone include that!??!
And, it makes me really mad-she keeps referring to the puppy as a "Teaspoon" and a "Teacup"-which we all know there is no such thing! A yorkie is a yorkie! I just have this feeling this poor dog is starved to be this small, and when someone does finally adopt her and actually feed her she'll gain weight and be 2-3 pounds.
I also told her I had a 4 lb. 6 month old puppy who is healthy that we didn't even pay anywhere near the price she's asking for her puppy, and she pretty much made fun of me for having a 4 lb. dog, and scoffs at the fact that I'm happy with her being that size.
And of course, she keeps insisting that no one would ever be able to find another yorkie of this size for less than her price. But, if you refer to previous posts, you'll notice that there were a couple of pups found for less, and I'm SURE there are many more out there.
I need to let this go. I get more upset with every email I get! | why do you keep saying she needs a math lesson. There are 16 ounces in a pounds 9right or am I wrong) so 1lb and 8 ounces is a pound and a half. |
