I've searched on here and on google and haven't read about yorkies changing colour to red on their body! Well Dixie's red on her bum.
I've attached a picture of Dixie - you can see her going dark on her back from the brilliant shiny silver of the rest of her body. And I've got a pic of her bum it doesn't show up too well but if you look in the dark part you can see some red hair intermingled with the black. | I don't know about the color change -- all I know is Eddie's got the butt shot pinned up in his kennel!
