No, she's not too old for her ears to still stand up. However, many Yorkies don't have erect ears and they are just as lovable!

I second Erin's suggestion that an obedience class - one that uses positive methods - would be a good idea.

Unfortunately, many Yorkies aren't well socialized as pups and therefore can become skittish around new people, places, or dogs. It doesn't necessarily mean that she was abused.

Hopefully, her barking will diminish as she settles into your place.
