"Onesies" are those one-piece underwear/t-shirt combos that babies wear...like a bodysuit. They stay tucked in and cover the diaper. I have found them VERY helpful with Emma-even this far into it! First of all-she loves clothes that make her feel snuggly, and wears them as PJ's most nights now that it's getting cooler (we're in Iowa). They've also helped protect her incision-both from me accidentally touching it, her chewing it, and from anything rubbing on it. They're really cheap in the baby section at Wal-Mart or Target-you can get 5 for $8-10-not too bad!
They come in cute patterns and colors, and with cute sayings on them-Emma has one that says "future princess" and "mommy's girl", and others with hearts and ladybugs on them!
They wash well, and are really nice because I can snap them around her little butt. And...her little tiny tail is SO cute in the onesie-it sometimes pokes up when she's happy. I love onesie butts!
