Well, when I had Louie neutered they did laser surgery so there were no stiches. He was very groggy when I picked him up and just really slept most of the day. I had a very small crate that he slept in for the first few hrs (i put it up on the couch next to me so he knew I was near) I just really wanted to be near him lol. He probobly just took a few sips of water here and there that first day. He was pretty sore and slow for a few days after, but he did have pain meds so that helped with his discomfort. Then before we knew it he was back to his ol' self again. I know how hard it is to hand them over Im sure he will be just fine, try not to worry too too much.
