It could be from the secretions in her eyes. If Sophie's hair is getting in her eyes and causing her eyes to water more then the hair under her eyes may smell like dirty feet or cheese.
Pull her hair up in a top knot or try to keep it out of her eyes and then irrigate her eyes with an eye solution that you can purchase in Petsmart or Petco. If you do this every day you'll see a huge improvement. Good luck!
One of my dogs had this problem and we thought it was his ears but the vet checked him and said it's from the eyes. Some people say to give distilled water to drink and this will help. My dogs have only ever had bottled water, though not distilled, and one still had the problem, but now it's much better.
