Is there a way you can bring it to a store and have them help you out? Or is there a friend you can call and have look at it? I understand how frustrating those companies can be.
I stopped my DSL/AT&T because everytime I called them for help I reached their help center in India. I always had SO much trouble understanding their accent or they don't understand me. And I knew more about computers than they did! They would always read stuff right off of the screen, as if I couldn't do that too. The last straw was when I had called them to ask for an update on their DSL outage and they told me that I needed to reboot MY computer! I was so mad at them! How can rebooting my computer ever help the situation if they are having the outage due to upgrades!? Customer service really has gone downhill in so many ways.
If you try bringing it to best buy they are usually very friendly and helpful.
