From what I saw last night, I would be very surprised if Bindi grew up and blamed herself. Her mother said that growing up in a zoo, Bindi has seen death her whole life and she accepts it and she knows how to deal with it. I think Bindi is very mature for her age and very bright. I don't see her blaming herself...i see her carrying on her father's legacy.
