They tend to loose puppies....they can have pups in the same litter that were fertilized at different times. It is safe to do what you advised....keep them apart after YOU are done choosing when they breed until she is no longer willing.
he told her the same thing a couple of people on here said yesterday that the eggs were probably not viable but to keep an eye on her and make sure to take her in for x-rays close to her original due date.
what you are saying is the same thing my husband told her and made her worse panicked. he has done a few of the beagle hounds that way only not such a huge gap between breedings and they were losing pups and having some big, some small and some REALLY small in large litters until he figured out the reason. he warned me of the dangers of this way before I even started breeding. This gal should have known that but it is my understanding that she really did think the heat was over and had been over two or three days. she seems to lose pups out of each litter though for some reason. She had never heard of some of the things I have told her that I have learned on here. I think that is why she turned to me but i didn't know for sure. |
