Insist on isoflurane or sevoflurane - the dogs go under very quickly and come out even quicker - the reason they don't want to use it is it more expensive (iso is cheaper since it just came off its patent, but still good).

The only "teal" sounding one I can think of is thiopental which is a barbituate and dangerous. Get the actual name and I am sure you can find something on it.
