I have tried several kinds of toothbrushes. I find that a child's size works better that the battery operated one. Besides he does try and chew them and after several brushings I have to replace them. The child one's are only about .99 at shoprite and the bristle part is very small and fits nicely in the back of his mouth. I only use pet dental toothpaste. He seems to enjoy it.
Just the minty kind. It can be purchased at PetSmart or PetCo. Carol
