Well, Louie was about a yr and a half when we got Bella. I brought Louie to the kennel when we picked Bella up, but we came right home afterwards and I put Bella in a "playpen" immediately and let Louie walk around it and check her out all the while talking to Louie really sweet and stuff. We did that for about a half hr. to an hr. until Louie seemed like he just really wanted to play with her. Then we put Louie in the pen with her and watched to make sure he wasnt too rough. They were fine together and then we let them both out and it has been wonderful ever since. There has never been any problems about territory or anything. I dont know if this is because Louie is just a naturally pretty mellow little guy and she was just so young to him that he did not see her as a threat at all or what. We have never showed any favoritism and I am sure that helped. Good luck to you and congrats on getting your new baby!
