Rawhide isn't the greatest for dogs because they can chew off pieces of it and it gets gummy and can lodge in thier throat. Because its gummy and all slimey then from chewing on it it is almost impossible to dislodge it. Sorry if that sounded really gross.
If you seem to have a hard time with tooth brushing to start out with. Try letting your little one lick the toothpaste off your finger for a day or two. then without the toothbrush just start massaging thier teeth and gums for a day or two then work up to the toothbrush. Memphis isn't a big fan of getting his teeth brushed but I found that this worked great for him. I used a finger brush for him since its a little less scarey to him. |
