I am not 100% sure what the deal is but I have heard as well that the flea shampoos are VERY drying. If the fleas are that bad - why don't you just buy the k-9 Advantage and use that on him once a month. That is what Murphy and Mia get and I have not seen any fleas on them and they are outside a bunch with me. Actually the K-9 advantage for the Yorkies is for 25 pounds and under so what I do is split the doses between them since it is a bit expensive. Than I would switch to a better shampoo and conditioner. I use the CC stuff and love it but I am sure there is something else out there that works just great and does not cost too much like the CC products. One other thing.....when Murphy was having tangles I bought some Huggies detangler spray for kids and sprayed it on him. It made his hair so easy to comb after that but what I also noticed is it was VERY moisturizing to his skin and hair as well. Now I use it all the time on both of them - maybe this would help as well. Good luck!
