I know a lady who has a couple of 3 pound yorkies she repeatedly breeds(she uses a smaller stud). She has two litters due this year. I don't think her vet sees a problem with it. He deals with small animals and hasn't told her not to do it. I know she just got two more females(one is going to be smaller than 3pounds grown) and I know she will use it for breeding. While I could never breed an animal to make money(that's just me), I wonder how come chihuahuas can have puppies and they are usually much smaller than yorkies but everyone feels so strongly against breeding small yorkies?
I'm just asking because when people see my tiny female they think "oh you should breed her and the puppies will sell for sooo much". I tell them that she is much too small and would need a c-section. Their reply is usually "What's wrong with that? People have c-sections all the time and tiny poodles and chihuahuas have puppies all the time." |
