I would call AKC and report the breeder, I'm not sure they could do anything but at least you would be proactive. Then I would contact the breeder and demand a refund of some of your money since you're keeping the puppy and threaten to sue her for fraud. Does California have laws protecting new dog owners? Even if nothing comes of it you would at least have her thinking something could happen! Good luck and don't despair, just love your little girl and like the rest of us you'll know better next time.
I called AKC today and they said there was nothing I could do. They said this breeder was acting as a broker (YUCK!) I also noticed the "real" breeder had the transfer of ownership date as of August 19, 2006 under which the Fake breeder put my name and address instead of her own. So it looks like I purchased this dog directly from the breeder last month. It just makes me want to puke. I don't know how these people can live with themselves. I have a hard time being dishonest with people, especially if they are spending alot of money. I did call her and leave her a message today, of which she has not returned my call "suprise" I wonder what she would have done and said if I had read the papers in front of her before I left. I should ask for a refund of some sort. I could get her for fraud I guess....hmmmmmm I still love my baby though
