Well, I understand completely. Especially after the loss of your last dog and how long it took for you bring another into your life. This must feel like a bad dream but don't give up hope. This might turn out to be nothing after all.
Also, if it isn't life threatening but you find out he shouldn't be bred, I would find out what the breeder has to say about that. If she still won't take him back she should at least return the extra money you paid for full breeding rights.
