Flea shampoo is very drying so maybe that's the problem. A natural flea repellant can be made by combining 1 drop tea tree oil, 1 drop lemon grass oil, 1 drop citronella oil to every ounce of water and spritzing them. Also cut up a flea collar and place it in your vaccuum bag to kill the fleas and eggs in the carpet as you vacuum them up.

He could also have seborrhea which looks like dandruff. It's actually an overproduction of oil from the glands and they get clogged. Virbac makes a prescription called Sebolux for this condition. K.C. had it on his back end by his tail as a puppy, but I used the shampoo and it disappeared and has never reappeared, but the vet did mention he might not outgrow it. They also make shampoos for this condition for humans so you might want to try one of these if your vet requires an appointment before he will give you the Sebolux.
