I'm sorry about your bad experience. Unfortunately, you aren't the only member who's been scammed by scumbags like this woman.
I would call AKC and report the breeder, I'm not sure they could do anything but at least you would be proactive. Then I would contact the breeder and demand a refund of some of your money since you're keeping the puppy and threaten to sue her for fraud. Does California have laws protecting new dog owners? Even if nothing comes of it you would at least have her thinking something could happen! Good luck and don't despair, just love your little girl and like the rest of us you'll know better next time.
