Sugar still hasn't been neutered. The female he is to mate with just had her first heat so they haven't been together yet. When she goes into her second heat, they will hopefully be bred successfully and I will have him neutered. Like I said, this was not up to me but it was a condition that I gladly agreed to because it's worth it to me to have Sugar. I have read that some dogs stop marking and some don't. My mom has a almost 3 yr. old yorkie who was neutered at 6 months and he still marks so you never know.
As far as the urine being stronger or thicker as someone mentioned, that is not the case with Sugar with regular urination. His markings are stronger than regular urine. As far as not being cuddly and sweet, nothing could be farther from the truth in our case. Sugar couldn't love me more and wants to be held and loved all of the time. I have honestly never had a sweeter dog. My daughter's neutered male Spike is the same way with her. We also have a spayed female Gracie who doesn't want anything to do with affection- only wants to play or be left alone. Basically, I think they all have their own personalities and in my house at least, it doesn't seem to be affected by neutering or not neutering.
