I'm curious do you leave them on when you aren't home. I don't use a collar to attach a leash ,but for their tags. I always remove them in the house ,especially when I leave.
A woman on another forum lost her furbaby when she let her outside in the backyard ,when she didn't return in 10 minutes or so she went to look for her and found her dead. She had got a stick wedge between her neck and collar.
This has always stuck with me, so I'm really parnoid about it.
