I would think with the puppies only being 5 weeks it probably isn't a heat cycle, but you never know. It is definitely possible and really does sound like it. I would get her checked out to make sure nothing else is going on.

I do personally know of a litter born on Jan. 19th and another litter born again at the end of July from the same mother. The first puppies were only like 4 months when the others were born (only about 2 months when impregnated) which is the fastest heat cycle I have ever heard of.
