 If I had my choice to register either AKC or ACA I would either dual register or go with AKC because information on the past generations is much more complete and goes further back (just because AKC has been around so long).

  I think what chechinmipo meant was that AKC is as bad as the registries that do allow registration with only a photo not that AKC itself does that.    
I think all registries have their pluses and their faults. I don't have a problem with other registries. I don't base it on what registry the dog is registered with. Instead, I think what someone needs to go by is not the registry itself but rather by the breeder and the dogs. I know some great breeders that use different registries and their dogs are excellent quality. Any registry can have bad breeders and bad dogs, it is knowing the breeder and their dogs that is most important. JMO
