People have been receiving emails of this sort and they opened them, believing they were legitimate and from their internet connection support. THEY ARE FAKE.

Do NOT open emails containing attachments from ANYONE — EVEN IF YOU KNOW THEM — unless you know if advance that the email is coming and what it contains. Being overly-cautious can save you hours and days of aggravation. It takes only minutes to have someone re-send you an email, if need be.
