I'm sort of scared to jump in here because I don't really know anything. I have been told that breeders sometimes use registries other than AKC because the others don't check up on them. I would definitely like to know what happened in Little Bit's case. The breeder told me that both of the parents were AKC but she gave me APRI registry for Little Bit. I have checked the AKC list of suspensions and she is not on there so I really don't know. I also thought I had heard that AKC charged the breeders more to register a litter than the others.
