OK, OK, I know there have been like a billion threads about house training but here's another one. Your patience and advice is greatly appreciated!
Honey is paper/wee wee pad trained and does GREAT while we are at home (we keep her papers/pad in our master bathroom) - she goes to the bathroom door and scratches to be let in and then she goes to the pad. She is rewarded with a treat and LOTS of praise!
When I leave to go to work, I put a baby gate up in the bathroom and she has her bed, food and water and pee pad/papers. When I come home from lunch, it seems almost always she has peed somewhere else on the floor (not on her pad/papers)!! It is kind of hard to catch her in the act becasue it happens while I am gone. Then I get down and scrub my grout with bleach cleaner every time to keep it from getting gross in there!!

I almost dread coming home because I know what I am going to find!
I am so frustrated and just don't understand why she can't get this down!! I can't think that this is what it is going to be like for the rest of her life! She is two years old (gasp!- that's right, not 100% potty trained!) and otherwise is very good behaviorally.
We chose to paper/pee pad train her because of being away for long periods of time at work. As a result, she has no bladder control - she has never had to hold it. I know that it would make sense for us to put her in a pen, more confined during the day, but I want her to learn, dangit! And at least having the whole bathroom seems less cruel than confining her in a pen (not a crate!) for hours on end.
I guess I am just high once again from the bleach fumes - but anyone who's been there, please give me your two cents!
Thanks in advance,
Honey's Mom
