If you have a dog registered with AKC and the breeder gives you only limited registration (unable to breed and register pups with AKC) then ACA will register the pups for you. The question is - why did the breeder not want the AKC dog to breed or stud - was it because they saw genetic defaults or health related reasons or the dog was not within standards?

If I had my choice to register either AKC or ACA I would either dual register or go with AKC because information on the past generations is much more complete and goes further back (just because AKC has been around so long).
