Lots of people prefer not to put personal contact information, their dogs names, etc. on a tag - makes it more difficult for people to try to keep the dog for any type of ransom, etc. If the dog had a microchip tag on then that would be the number you would call - you would just have to give them the number on the tag and they would know who's dog it was. For NON dog owners who don't know about microchipping who find a stray dog, I think it would be much easier for them to take action if your contact information was clearly on a tag on the dog's harness or collar.

Maybe these people are like me though and are having a hard time finding just the 'right' tag to personalize for their puppy, lol. It took me months to find one small enough!
