I read in a yorkie book that they will typically try and find the highest spot because whoever's head is higher is the alpha in the situation. They warned us that pups would try that immediately and sure enough when we brought Charlie home he kept trying to get on top of the couch and sit up real high. We nipped it, and he doesn't try it anymore. I think it's a dominance thing... but I bet it's also pretty comfortable. You're head is one of the spots that gives off the most heat in the body, they probably like that, plus the hair is probably a familiar feeling for them. Personally I think it's cute. Who REALLY knows what these little guys are thinking anyway?
