I use Cowboy Magic and it works wonders for me. Mimi has more of the cotton coat and before I got her groomed she matted easily. I use CM after her bath and she would be fine for the rest of the week. Sometimes I would have to apply a small amount during the week for brushing. I also found that she didn't matt as easily with the CM on her. I also use a flea comb to comb her....brushes don't get deep enough for me. My boy doesn't get matted.
