I would certainly give her a day or two....after all -- she did have surgery with an anesthetic.... and I'm sure some dogs just want to sleep and rest longer than others after this.
Size - really shouldn't have anything to do with this surgery. At the Univ of WA, they spay much smaller animals all the time (mice, etc.) with no real problems.
I work in Cardiology - stop and think about the complicated hours-long heart surgerys that are done on newborns (their hearts are the size of a walnut) -- and most of them do very well.
Let your puppy rest -
My neutered boy came home and slept the day away -- and I think he did sleep a little more than usual the next day, but he was just fine.
