i have to say. i live in florida and i know how your feeling about heat issues. I am probably 1 of the most worried soon-2-be mommys there is! my sugestion is
1. dont stay at the lake too long (like 6 hours!) without some sort of protection (like an umbrella or if there is doggie sunscreen)

I think if its not already invented whoever makes dog suncreen would be rich!
