Love Barking problem? I found a solution!!!

Hey everyone- I posted a few times, but I think it's safe to say: Oliver is CURED!!!
A couple of days ago I was soooo frustrated with his constant barking (more like bossing everyone around and trying to get attention) but I think I really broke him of it. He has known the command "quiet" for awhile, but I only ever gave him the command when he was barking to get him to stop and then I praised.
I think that little rascal got it in his head that he can bark, then be quiet and then get a treat. So in order to get the treat he would have to bark first....
that and he also CRAVES attention so everytime he barked her got what he wanted.
SO I started saying "quiet, goodboy" when he was just hanging out on the couch, or following me around the house, or watching me make dinner. In all cases where he normally barked for attention he was too busy listening to my command and getting praised and treats for being quiet.
After four days of SILENCE, I think it is all working out.
Okay, maybe not COMPLETE silence... He is allowed to growl when we play and when he is playing with his toys by himself. And we have had A FEW lapses, but nothing that lasts more than two barks and is actually quite quieter than his normal barks.
I'm so happy. Yeah! I hope i didn't jinx myself. haha.
Any other loud dogs quieted by this method? or share your own!!! I've heard abotu the can with the coins, but i never did try it.
Have a great day everyone... sorry for the length!
