Where to start? Yorkies or Others? Fewer Others......
We adopted a Pom from the Humane Society 2 years ago for Christmas. They didn't know how old he was and I couldn't remember if the white chin meant he was old or young. Turns out, best guess by our vet, that he was about 9 years old, about 11 now. We were looking for a dog to play with the kids, hmmm, wasn't him. Someone was giving away a Schnauzer, female. Ok, she's bigger and kid friendly. Bigger, yes, kid friendly NOT! She didn't bite but she didn't like kids, another disappointment. Her heat snuck up on us and we had Schnerrier puppies. 5 kept one for the kids. Dil took mom. Oh, dang! Forgot names!

Yorkies:
First was: Pirogue, his name came from a Johnny Horton song we were listening to when we went to pick him up. AKC is just Pirogue.
Second was: Lady Galahad, she was supposed to be Cajalina (cage a lina) also from the song but she wasn't a Cajalina. She acted like a Lady tho and on a movie called Labrinth is a muppet that looks like a Yorkie who rides a sheepdog. We thot the muppets name was Lancelot but Lady Lancelot was a mouth full. So we decided on Galahad. Muppets name was Sir Didimus(sp). AKC name is Lady Galahad.
Third was: Autumn Rose, her papers came back Autumn Rose II
We went thru a lot of names for her on the way home. There was one that I really wanted to use, can't remember it right now. But it was the name of a wine or something like that and I didn't want any "infringement" problems over a name. What we ended up with is the same anyway, Autumn Rose
IS the name of a real rose.
Fourth was: AKC "You Can Call Me Mr. Big", we were going to call him Yucan but we found that "you can" is such a big part of our vocabulary that he didn't recognize his name. So now we call him Mr. Big. Or my recent favorite "My little black kissing devil" or "Little black devil".
Fifth was: Unexpected, we hadn't planned on getting her. She is a half sister to Mr. Big. She was already named when we got her, "Mayah's Asia Girl." We wanted to choose a name for her to make her our own and after looking at her and holding her for a little while, I said Lacijo. Something about her colors made me think of lace.
Last but not least is Lady's puppy, Matty. Matty is German and means "Strong Fighter", I can't remember if it was a unisex name or just a girls name. I wanted something that might help urge her to live, I didn't think she would. If you look for my post titled Matty you can see pics of her.
