I recently aquired a 3 yo UNneutered male. He just marked everywhere and smelled a lot of the time. I had to wear belly bands on him. Neutering made him like a "new man" lol He no longer marks and I don't have to mess with the bands anymore. I know healthwise for him it was the right decision and for my house....well it definitely was!
