My thoughts go out to you.You dont deserve what is happening to you but Im sure reco will get better and when the vet says it is okay I would go and spend as much time as possible with him while he is there.I would definitly look for another vet when all this is over,you need a really caring one that will explain everything to you.Take care and we are all thinking of you.
