Giardia usually responds well to antibiotics, in fact yours is the first I've heard of being hospitalized for it. I'm sorry that your vet won't let you visit. I know it is probably disruptive to their schedule, but they could at least set aside a visitation period. Giardia is contagious to other dogs so be on the look out for any anorexia or diarrhea with any others you have. It can also be passed to humans so exercise good hygiene and wash your hands frequently. |
