1) Is it considered normal for a male, who lives with the bitch, to go for days without eating, while the bitch is in season?
My male & female were raised together since they were pups and my female is on day 6-7 of her heat and my male's had 1 full bowl of food since. They have food down 24/7, but I'm starting to get worried since he's not eating. He just follows her around everywhere. When I seperate them (for a few hours) she will eat, but he won't
2) If the male & bitch live together, should they be seperated until 'prime mating time' (day 10)?
We really don't have the means to keep them seperated (they sleep together in the same crate, ect) but if it means a successful breeding, we'll figure out a way. What do most breeders do?
