So sorry that they lost the little one. Make sure they know that their house and yard can remain infected with the parvo virus for quite some time so not to rush out and get another puppy, unfortunately. I've heard to wait a year! You will also have to be careful when visiting. I am sure this is going to be a subject you don't want to discuss with them so maybe just have a pair of shoes you wear when you visit them and take them off before entering your own environment and always change your clothes and wash your hands when returning home. Also I wouldn't allow my dogs to visit the premises.
About the congestion, I've never heard those symptoms mentioned with parvo so it is probably just a coincidence. Usually, with parvo the first thing you notice is lethargy, very bad smelling diarrhea and refusal to eat or drink anything. |
