 Sandy Hook, NJ- pet friendly beach
I went to Sandy Hook yesterday and dogs are allowed all year except the summer season between March 15-Labor Day weekend. There were lots of dogs on the beach this weekend. They were swimming and running and having a great time. The owners were all being responsible for their pets' behavior and cleaning up after their poop. The only drawback is that there's a lot of waste that's washed on shore-- this includes plastic tampon applicators, etc -- so if your dog likes to eat things, he's gonna have a field day on this beach if you don't carefully watch him.
